We are very focused on building long-term relationships with both individual and corporate clients and our objective is to provide all of our clients with the best possible advice and service.

All of our advisers are highly qualified, professional and diligent and we hold enhanced qualifications in the areas of investments, portfolio management, pensions, retirement planning, taxation, and trust planning.

JULIAN SUTTON

    Julian is our resident Welshman and one of Gemini’s Founding Directors. He joined the Financial Services industry in 2003, following a career in the Royal Navy. He is both a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society. Julian is very passionate about providing clients with the best possible service and focusses on Retirement Planning, Investments and Inheritance Tax Planning.

    Outside working hours, Julian enjoys spending time with his wife Kelley and 3 children. With any spare time he can be found on the golf course or watching rugby.

JESS D’AMBROSIO

    Jess has been an integral part of Gemini since her arrival in 2013 and became a qualified financial adviser in 2016. Having spent a period of time in London, Jess returned to Cheltenham where she divides her time between advisory work and family life. Jess is a ‘general practitioner’ and in the process of expanding her client base.

    Outside of working hours, she enjoys keeping fit and socialising, but her family remains her focus.

COLIN GIBSON

    Originally from Northern Ireland, Colin went to university in Wales and then edged further east to Cheltenham. He was a solicitor for more than 20 years, and qualified as a Financial Adviser in 2019, specialising in Investment Planning and Inheritance Planning. He enjoys working with clients to provide solutions for them which benefit present and future generations.

    Outside of work he loves walks with the family, watching most sports and playing golf.

ADAM SMALLMAN

    Adam has worked as an Independent Financial Adviser for over 10 years, having graduated from Cardiff University in 2008 with a degree in Economics, Banking and Finance. He provides full financial planning advice for both private and corporate clients and has worked with a huge range of people, from young professionals to large corporates.

    Outside of work, Adam enjoys spending time with his family. He is also a keen sportsman with hobbies including cricket, golf and tennis.

 

CHRIS FURLEY

    Chris attended Cheltenham Grammar School and graduated from a London university before entering Financial Services in 1997. He was a Director at Gemini from its inception in 2011 until recently, but is now concentrating solely on his clients. As a Chartered Financial Planner, most of Chris’s client work involves Retirement Solutions, Tax Planning and Investments, including Sustainable Investment. Chris is an experienced adviser, delivering the whole range of financial planning solutions in an informative and friendly way.

    Outside of work Chris blends family life with interests in travel, hiking and the natural world.

MIKE ADAMS

    Originally from Cheltenham, Mike started his career in Financial Services after graduating from Exeter University. After several years in the industry he has built up a loyal client base through ensuring excellent levels of service and achieved his Chartered status. Mike very much considers a client’s full situation before deciding upon objectives, which he then follows through to completion. As part of this process Mike has developed links with several local accountants to ensure that his clients receive a joined-up approach to their financial planning.

    When not at work, Mike likes to spend time with his family, squeezing in visits to Gloucester Rugby when time allows.

    Francis has spent over 25 years in Financial Services, following careers as both an Army Officer and a Chartered Surveyor and Property Developer. His overriding passion is Investment Planning, although he is experienced in all aspects of Financial Planning.

    Married for over 35 years, he has two grown up daughters. His hobbies include skiing, golf, bell ringing and armchair rugby!

    David has worked within the Financial Services industry for over 30 years and is passionate about building long-term relationships. He specialises in Investment Planning and possesses a wide and comprehensive knowledge in all areas of personal and commercial financial planning.

    David has been married to Sarah for 30 years, and as his children are now grown up, his spare time is filled with a combination of travel, ticking off his bucket list and dining.

    Charlie is our most recent Financial Adviser and adds a little fame to our team. Having grown up in Gloucestershire, Charlie recently retired from professional rugby, after playing an incredible 15 seasons with Gloucester Rugby and 4 caps for England Rugby. He started studying for his financial qualifications in 2016, after completing a degree during his rugby career. Now he is fully qualified, Charlie is looking forward to continuing to hone his financial skills and show his passion for building relationships and helping clients.

    He is married to Rose and has three young children. In his spare time, Charlie enjoys keeping fit, and is vice patron for a very worthwhile local charity, The Pied Piper Appeal.

    Keith is a Mortgage, Equity Release and Protection specialist, and has worked within Financial Services for more than 40 years. His roles include carrying out research on behalf of our clients and ensuring that their mortgage and protection applications run as smoothly as possible.

    Outside of work, Keith enjoys writing and spending time with his wife Jan and daughter Jade.

    Originally from India, Monica has worked in the Financial Services industry since 2013. Since joining Gemini at the beginning of 2022, she has provided Adam with Paraplanner support.

    Monica lives with her husband Jay, and they love travelling together. In her spare time, Monica loves practising meditation and watching movies.

    Originally from York, Mel joined Gemini in Spring 2012 and has become an integral part of the Gemini team. She thoroughly enjoys her technical support role, working alongside Chris, but is also a fully qualified adviser.

    After graduating in 1987, Mel spent the first 25 years of her career with Aviva, initially as part of the HR team in York. She moved into financial planning in 1997 when she relocated to Cheltenham as Business Development Manager working with local IFAs.

    Mel lives with her husband, Guy, and their teenage daughter, Georgia. Outside of work, Mel loves spending time with her family and friends and particularly enjoys theatre visits. She’s also started playing her clarinet again after 35 years!

 

PAUL WILTSHIRE

    Paul joined the Gemini team in June 2024, as ParaPlanner to Julian Sutton.

    He spent the first 20 years of his career in IT, before branching into the financial industry. Over the last 16 years he has been a technical Paraplanner, gaining knowledge across the many aspects of financial planning.

    As well as work, Paul enjoys mountain biking, with some of his favourite biking trails being up in Scotland.

    Karen joined Gemini as a Receptionist and Administrator in February 2015, having run her own Venue Styling business for 8 years. Karen previously worked for Midland Bank and also as a Teaching Assistant in Lincolnshire and Gloucestershire schools.

    Karen has been married for over 20 years to Russ and has two teenage children. She also has an adorable Lhasa Apso called Lottie who she loves to take for walks.

    Sharon joined Gemini in October 2018 as a part-time Receptionist. She had previously worked as a Secretary at Smiths Industries, leaving in 1988 to start her family of four.

    Her hobbies include walking with friends and her dogs in the countryside, ballroom dancing and socialising with family and friends.

    Jo has worked in Financial Services for over 30 years, and previously in banking and foreign exchange. She is married to Chris, one of our Directors, providing much needed administrative support.

    Jo has spent most of her life in Cheltenham and divides her time between Gemini and supporting their teenage daughter, Emily. She has a passion for environmental issues, enjoys swimming and loves holidays in the family campervan.

    Sam is the most recent addition to Gemini's Reception and Administration team. Since having her family she has decided to utilise her administration skills, after making the move from a 17-year career in the Health and Beauty sector.

    Outside of work Sam enjoys holidays and days out with her husband and two young children.
